Cumberland County Earns National Awards of Excellence
FAYETTEVILLE – Cumberland County Management has been notified that the National Association of County Information Officers has awarded three awards to Cumberland County. Two Awards of Excellence were bestowed, one for the county’s employee newsletter, The Connection, and one for a speech written for and presented by Dr. John Henley before the Coordinating Council on Older Adults. The Connection is a collaborative effort by Cumberland County Public Information Director Sara VanderClute and the Print Shop Supervisor who is also a talented graphic artist, Angie Cunningham.
A Superior designation was awarded to the county’s fundraising campaign last year for the American Heart Association, acknowledging Ms. Cunningham’s graphics for the ‘Kiss A Pig’ event, which attracted wide participation in the fundraiser.
County officials attending the National Association of Counties meeting in Chicago in August will have an opportunity to attend a gala awards celebration for all the winning entries from across the country.
