Fayetteville Arts Center

Built in 1911 in an early program of federally-financed post office construction, the Beaux Arts style of this stone-and-brick structure is typical of the governmental architecture of the time. Replaced in 1961 by the Federal Building on Green Street, it served as a public library. In 1987 it was extensively renovated, and turned to yet another public use as the galleries and office of the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. It is now known simply as the Arts Center. It is open to the public. Click here to visit the Arts Council web site.
