Marketfair Shopping Center
Shopping & Retail
Marketfair Shopping Center occupies a large block of Skibo Road between Cross Creek Mall and Freedom Town Center, and plenty of Fayetteville residents still call it Market Fair Mall from its years as an enclosed center. Today it is an open-air property where stores face the parking lots instead of an interior corridor. New Jersey-based Progress Realty Partners bought the 219,000-square-foot center from Westport Capital in January 2020 for $36 million, according to trade press coverage of the sale. A later redevelopment brought in a Lidl grocery store, and the 15-screen AMC Market Fair 15 cinema remains one of the property's best-known tenants, giving the site evening traffic after many shops close. With Cross Creek Mall and Freedom Town Center each a short drive away, the center is often one stop on a longer Skibo Road errand run. Posted center hours are a general guide only; each tenant sets its own schedule, and the theater runs later than the retail stores.
