316 Oyster Bar
Dining & Nightlife
316 Oyster Bar is a sit-down seafood grill at 316 Owen Drive, named for its street number, and one of the restaurants Fayetteville locals mention first when the conversation turns to fresh seafood. The long, brightly lit bar is the center of the room, where regulars order oyster shooters, and the kitchen sends out steamed and fried seafood plates. The Fayetteville Observer's 2020 review described a menu of seafood and steaks that includes snow crab and king crab legs, and Visit Fayetteville notes that the restaurant brings in seafood from the coast daily. It is an evening-only operation, open 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 4:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and closed Sunday and Monday. Weekend nights get busy, so arrive near opening for a seat at the bar. Takeout orders run through ChowNow on the restaurant's website, and the restaurant also books private parties. Its Google rating is 4.5 stars across nearly 1,900 reviews.

AMC Fayetteville 14
Arts, Culture & Entertainment
AMC Fayetteville 14 is the multiplex on Lake Valley Drive, just off Skibo Road north of Cross Creek Mall, and it is the Fayetteville-area theater that IMAX lists for its large-format screen. The building opened in November 2014 as Carmike's Patriot 14 and became an AMC location after AMC acquired the Carmike chain. Local coverage at the opening described the IMAX screen as roughly 70 feet wide and 31 feet tall, and IMAX now lists the auditorium as an IMAX with Laser installation with stadium seating. The other 13 auditoriums show first-run releases on a standard schedule. Because it sits a few minutes from AMC Market Fair 15, moviegoers can compare start times at both locations before choosing a show; this is the one to pick for IMAX screenings. Showtimes, ticket prices and premium-format availability change weekly, so check AMC's website or app before heading out.
Fayetteville, NC
AMC Market Fair 15
Arts, Culture & Entertainment
AMC Market Fair 15 anchors the Marketfair Shopping Center at 1916 Skibo Road, making it the cinema option for shoppers already on that stretch of west Fayetteville. The 15-auditorium cinema operated as the Carmike Marketfair 15 for years and switched to AMC branding in April 2017, after AMC completed its purchase of Carmike Cinemas. It runs first-run Hollywood releases in standard auditoriums, with large-format IMAX screenings handled by the sister location instead. Ticketing listings note free self-parking beside the building, which suits a site where the theater shares lots with the shopping center's other tenants. The location keeps a separate schedule from AMC Fayetteville 14, a few minutes north on Lake Valley Drive, so the same film often plays at both with different start times; the Lake Valley site is the one to choose for IMAX. Showtimes, pricing and any discount days are set by AMC and change often, so confirm details on AMC's website or mobile app.
Fayetteville, NC
Anchor Allie's
Dining & Nightlife
Anchor Allie's is a nautical-themed bistro on Bragg Boulevard that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from one kitchen, and its menu advertises breakfast all day. Many of the dishes carry names that nod to the Army post up the road: Airborne Chicken & Biscuits, Frigate Shrimp & Grits, a Green Beret Burger and a Black Hawk Burger. Allie's Favorite French Toast and The Crew's Chicken & Waffles cover the sweeter side of the morning menu, while fish tacos, wings, a grilled mac and cheese sandwich, tater tots and milkshakes fill out lunch and dinner. The bar mixes cocktails, including Bloody Marys and margaritas, which makes it a weekend brunch option as well. Doors open at 8 a.m. every day. Closing is 9 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and 10 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Because breakfast stays on the menu past the morning rush, it suits soldiers and hospital staff coming off overnight shifts. The restaurant sits between downtown and the Fort Bragg end of the boulevard.

Arnette Park
Recreation & Fitness
Arnette Park sits on old Highway 87 about four miles south of downtown, where roughly 100 acres of woods slope toward the Cape Fear River. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation keeps part of the land developed with picnic pavilions and restrooms and leaves the rest as natural woodland. Disc golfers know the park for its 18-hole course, established in 1996 and listed with the PDGA as Fayetteville Memorial DGC; it uses asphalt tees, charges no fee and threads through ravines and tight wooded fairways. Every December the park road becomes the route for Christmas in the Park, a drive-through holiday light display presented by the city with support from Fayetteville PWC. Schedules and any admission charge for the light show change from year to year, so check the city's events page before going. Pavilion reservations go through the parks office at (910) 433-1547.

Brooklyn Pizzeria
Dining & Nightlife
Brooklyn Pizzeria has been making pies on Ramsey Street since 1989, which gives it more than 35 years in the Ramsey Commons Shopping Center on Fayetteville's north side. The style is Brooklyn: thin, wide slices that fold down the middle, the kind of pizza transplants from the Northeast tend to hunt for after they move to town. The menu also covers Italian favorites and chicken wings. The restaurant handles dine-in, carryout, catering and delivery, though delivery is limited to a set service area, and it asks callers to check their address at (910) 491-4585 before ordering. Catering has its own section on the restaurant's website. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, extended to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The shopping center lot provides parking. The equipment floor has more than 140 cardio and strength machines, and the schedule lists over 100 group fitness classes a week, including group cycling. On the medical side, staff provide cardiac rehabilitation, aquatic therapy, exercise physiology and outpatient therapy, which suits members coming back from surgery or managing a heart condition. Cape Fear Valley Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital
Healthcare & Medical Services
Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital is the long-term acute care hospital in the Cape Fear Valley Health system, located on Robeson Street just west of downtown Fayetteville. Long-term acute care, often shortened to LTAC, serves patients who no longer need an intensive care unit but still require hospital-level treatment for weeks, such as people weaning from a ventilator, recovering from serious infections or healing complex wounds. The hospital provides 24-hour nursing, physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapy, pulmonary care and rehabilitation services for those inpatients. It also keeps an outpatient side offering diagnostic radiology, lab work, outpatient surgery and wound care, a closer option for some patients than the system's main medical center on Owen Drive. The Joint Commission has awarded the hospital its Gold Seal of Approval, along with disease-specific certifications in respiratory failure and wound care. Admission is typically arranged by a referring physician or hospital case manager rather than through walk-in visits, so families should start with the care team when planning a transfer.

Dining & Nightlife
Chris's Steak & Seafood House is the long-standing independent steakhouse on Raeford Road, set in the Highland Shopping Center. The restaurant says it was established more than 50 years ago, and owner Greg Kalevas now runs it. Hand-cut steaks are the core of the menu, joined by fresh-caught Atlantic seafood brought in daily, so it works for a table split between steak and fish. The bar opens at 5 p.m. with daily drink specials, cocktails, local beers on tap and a long wine list. A private dining area handles corporate dinners and special events, and the restaurant asks groups to call to plan them. It is dinner-only: 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, with a Monday closure the restaurant describes as seasonal. Reservations are taken by phone at (910) 485-4242 or (910) 485-2948, and the restaurant also lists on OpenTable. City Market at the Museum
Shopping & Retail
City Market at the Museum is downtown Fayetteville's Saturday farmers and crafters market, held on the grounds of the Fayetteville History Museum on Franklin Street. The museum itself occupies the restored 1890 Cape Fear and Yadkin Valley Railroad depot, so shoppers browse vendor tents beside one of the city's older railroad buildings, a few blocks from the Market House. The city's parks and recreation department, which runs the museum, presents the market every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the main season running April through December and some vendors returning year-round. Growers bring locally raised produce, eggs and honey, and the craft side fills out with plants, cut flowers, woodwork, knitted items, soap, candles and jewelry. The museum is open the same morning from 10 a.m., which makes it easy to pair a market stop with its exhibits on local history. For anyone searching for a Fayetteville farmers market downtown, this is the weekly Saturday option on city property.

The city lists the trail at about 2.8 miles, running from Festival Park on Ray Avenue toward the Riverside Dog Park near the Cape Fear River. Benches line the paved path, and the city tags the corridor for historical interest because it passes close to the older blocks of the central business district. Near Green Street the path reaches the Cross Creek Linear Park fountain. The route works well as a link between downtown attractions: walkers can start at a Festival Park event, follow the creek past picnic spots, and loop back toward the shops and restaurants. There is no admission charge, and the path is free for walkers, runners and strollers.

Cross Creek Mall

CBL Properties owns and manages the center, which it lists at roughly 790,000 square feet and 108 stores. Belk, JCPenney and Macy's serve as the department-store anchors, and Macy's stayed open after the chain's 2024 announcement of about 150 store closures. Inside, shoppers find national apparel and specialty names such as H&M, American Eagle Outfitters, Bath & Body Works, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Foot Locker and Five Below. The former Sears building was redeveloped and now holds Rooms To Go, Main Event and LongHorn Steakhouse, while an outdoor streetscape called The District, about 46,000 square feet, adds Sephora, Men's Wearhouse, White House Black Market and Sleep Number. CBL describes the property as the only super-regional mall within a 75-mile radius and its customer base reaches well past the city limits into surrounding counties. Store hours can differ from the mall's posted hours, so check individual retailers before a trip.

Today it holds general collections, children's and adult programming, and the Local and State History staff who help residents with genealogy and regional research. The Ray Avenue side of the building carries a mural commissioned for America's 250th anniversary, and the branch marked its own 40th year in June 2026. The Fayetteville VA Health Care Center is the large outpatient campus of the Department of Veterans Affairs on South Raeford Road in west Fayetteville. Many people search for it as the Fayetteville VA Medical Center, but that name belongs to the separate VA hospital at 2300 Ramsey Street; both are part of the Fayetteville VA Coastal Health Care System, which VA places in its Veterans Integrated Service Network 6. The Raeford Road center began seeing patients in November 2015, when VA moved clinics off the Ramsey Street campus and two off-site clinics. Services reported at the opening include primary care, mental health care, specialty outpatient clinics and an ambulatory surgery center. VA has also shifted its seasonal flu vaccine operations to this address from the Ramsey Street medical center. The building is a weekday operation, generally open 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Veterans must be enrolled in VA health care to schedule appointments; registration information is on the system's website. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

It opened in April 2007, and its centerpiece is a covered performance pavilion whose main stage the city lists at 40 by 66 feet, backed by dressing rooms and a loading dock. Audiences sit on the grass, and the grounds are wired with power and water hookups so vendors can set up booths without generators. The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival books its free weekend concerts on this stage each spring, and the city's Independence Day concert and fireworks show has been held here as well. Between events the park is open green space with restrooms, and walkways tie it into the Cross Creek trail that runs toward the river. Groups that want to rent the park call the parks office at (910) 433-1547 for fees and dates.

This one, on North Eastern Boulevard at I-95 Exit 49, is the easiest stop for travelers coming off the interstate. The pork is cooked in the eastern North Carolina tradition, served chopped or sliced with a thin vinegar sauce. The buffet is the main event. Pasta gets equal attention, with ravioli and other dishes made in-house. The schedule is short and worth checking before you set out. Tuesday and Wednesday are dinner-only from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday add a lunch service from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., then reopen for dinner at 5. Recreation & Fitness
Honeycutt Park shares its Devers Street grounds with the Kiwanis Recreation Center in west Fayetteville, and the two operate as one complex under Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation. For the 2026 season the city scheduled its splash pads to run from May 1 through September 30, with standard hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, and it warns that pads can shut down for filtration problems after heavy rain. La Perla Cuisine of Nayarit
Dining & Nightlife
La Perla Cuisine of Nayarit brings the seafood cooking of Nayarit, a Pacific-coast Mexican state, to Glensford Drive in west Fayetteville. It took over the former El Burrito space near The Fresh Market, and the menu reads very differently from the city's many Tex-Mex dining rooms. Shrimp ceviche and the 7 Seas Stew, a tomato-broth soup loaded with mixed seafood, drew particular praise in CityView magazine's review. The menu leans on shrimp and mixed seafood throughout. Not everyone at the table has to want shellfish, though; ribeye, fajitas, burritos and enchiladas are all available, and there is a children's menu and a cocktail list. The restaurant takes reservations, which is uncommon among Fayetteville's Mexican restaurants and useful for larger groups on weekend nights. It opens at 11 a.m. every day and closes at 9 p.m., staying open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Online ordering for pickup and delivery is available through its website.

Latitude 35 Bar & Grill
Dining & Nightlife
Latitude 35 Bar & Grill is a neighborhood bar and restaurant on upper Hay Street in Haymount, the hilltop district just west of downtown. The menu is classic American bar-and-grill food backed by a cocktail list. In warmer months the outdoor patio fills up, and the bar has hosted live music and music bingo nights. Weekend brunch is one of its best-known draws, and local brunch roundups regularly include it. On Saturday and Sunday the doors open at 9 a.m. for that crowd. Weekday service starts at 11:30 a.m. Closing is 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Sunday, 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and midnight on Friday and Saturday, when it shifts into more of a bar. It is closed on Monday. The restaurant's old website no longer works, so the phone line at (910) 485-4777 is the best way to check event nights and holiday hours. It sits among the Haymount shops and restaurants along this stretch of Hay Street.

Lindy's Restaurant
Dining & Nightlife
Lindy's Restaurant is a breakfast-and-lunch diner on Raeford Road that has outlasted most of the corridor around it. Anna and Pete Karteris, who emigrated from Greece, opened it on Aug. 12, 1968, and Anna kept it going on her own after Pete died about a decade later. CityView magazine describes it as a Greek-owned diner a stone's throw from Zorba's, with hotcakes, French toast and omelets among the morning staples and hamburger steak a lunch favorite. Daily specials rotate through the week. The diner opens at 6 a.m. every day, which makes it one of the earliest sit-down breakfasts in west Fayetteville, and it closes at 3 p.m., or 2 p.m. on Sunday. There is no dinner service. Lindy's has no website; the phone line is the best way to check holiday hours. Google reviewers rate it 4.6 stars from more than 900 reviews.

Marketfair Shopping Center
Shopping & Retail
Marketfair Shopping Center occupies a large block of Skibo Road between Cross Creek Mall and Freedom Town Center, and plenty of Fayetteville residents still call it Market Fair Mall from its years as an enclosed center. Today it is an open-air property where stores face the parking lots instead of an interior corridor. New Jersey-based Progress Realty Partners bought the 219,000-square-foot center from Westport Capital in January 2020 for $36 million, according to trade press coverage of the sale. A later redevelopment brought in a Lidl grocery store, and the 15-screen AMC Market Fair 15 cinema remains one of the property's best-known tenants, giving the site evening traffic after many shops close. With Cross Creek Mall and Freedom Town Center each a short drive away, the center is often one stop on a longer Skibo Road errand run. Posted center hours are a general guide only; each tenant sets its own schedule, and the theater runs later than the retail stores.

Mazarick Park
Recreation & Fitness
Mazarick Park wraps around Glenville Lake on Belvedere Avenue in central Fayetteville. Paved paths follow the shoreline, and the Glenville Lake Pier gives anglers a spot to cast without a boat. The wooded ground between the lake and the road holds a disc golf course listed with the PDGA as Glenville Pines, so players share the park with walkers and families most afternoons. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation also maintains tennis courts, a baseball field, playground equipment and a reservable picnic shelter here. The park building can be rented through the staff at nearby Clark Park. The city posts park hours as 8 a.m. to dusk, and shelter reservations are handled by phone through the parks office at (910) 433-1547. Entry to the grounds, trails and disc golf course is free.

Mi Casita Tallywood
Dining & Nightlife
Mi Casita is the Mexican chain Fayetteville grew itself. The first restaurant opened in the Tallywood Shopping Center on Raeford Road in 1990, and the company now lists 18 locations across Cumberland County and nearby towns. When the lease on that original space ran out, the family built a new restaurant of roughly 5,000 square feet next door, with a central bar and a pickup window for online orders, and this is that flagship. The menu runs through the familiar Tex-Mex range of tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and margaritas, along with steak and seafood plates. A few house items set it apart from other chains in town: the burritos fundidos, a chilaquile burrito, tropical shrimp tacos and a shrimp soup. Weekday hours start at 11 a.m. and run to 9:30 p.m., or 10:30 p.m. on Friday. On weekends the doors open at 11:30 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 p.m. Sunday. Its spot on the busy Raeford Road corridor, west of Highland Shopping Center, includes its own parking.

Millstone 14
Arts, Culture & Entertainment
Millstone 14 is the movie theater for the southern end of Cumberland County, set in the Millstone Shopping Center on Footbridge Lane near the Hope Mills town line. The cinema is run by Stone Theatres, a regional operator, rather than one of the national chains that dominate Skibo Road, and it carries a Fayetteville mailing address in ZIP code 28306. For residents of Hope Mills and the Camden Road area, it is a much shorter drive than the AMC theaters on the west side of Fayetteville, and it spares south-side households a trip up to Skibo Road on a busy weekend night. The theater shows first-run studio releases across its auditoriums, and the shopping center around it includes a Cold Stone Creamery for a stop before or after a film. Stone Theatres posts showtimes, ticketing and any special pricing on its website, which is the best place to check what is playing and when.

Miyabi Jr. Express
Dining & Nightlife
Miyabi Jr. Express on North McPherson Church Road is a counter-service Japanese restaurant built around hibachi and teriyaki plates, with a sushi bar for rolls. There is no tableside chef show: you order at the register and eat in the dining room or carry the food out, which keeps a lunch visit quick. The store sits on the McPherson Church Road corridor, a short drive from Cross Creek Mall. The brand runs three Express counters in the city; the other two are on Ramsey Street on the north side and on Cliffdale Road in the west. This location has the largest review base of the three on Google, with more than 1,000 reviews averaging 4.4 stars. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at noon on Sunday. Closing is 8:30 p.m. on weeknights, 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday. Online orders are taken through a Toast link on the Miyabi Jr. website.

Sherman's army in March 1865. Exhibits cover southern North Carolina history from Native American cultures through the Civil War, local industries, and transportation.
Fayetteville, North Carolina
Neo Sushi Express
Dining & Nightlife
Neo Sushi Express is the all-you-can-eat sushi option inside Cross Creek Mall. Its main draw is a rotating belt that carries freshly made rolls past each table, so diners grab plates as they pass rather than ordering one roll at a time. Hibachi dishes are on the same all-you-can-eat menu for anyone in the group who would rather skip raw fish. The restaurant splits weekdays into two services: lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with the dining room closed in between. On Saturday and Sunday it serves the dinner menu straight through from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and holidays are dinner-only as well. Suite 150 sits within the mall complex, and the mall's large free lots handle parking. The location pairs naturally with a shopping trip at the mall. Google reviewers rate it 4.3 stars across roughly 550 reviews.

North Regional Library
Education & Training
North Regional Library is the Cumberland County Public Library branch for the McArthur Road corridor in north Fayetteville. It is one of the system's regional branches, which means a fuller staff than the small community libraries: separate adult services and youth services teams, a circulation desk, and outreach librarians who take programs into the surrounding neighborhoods. Youth services here covers everyone from babies at storytime to high school students working on projects. Items requested from any branch in the county system can be routed to North Regional for pickup, and the county has used the branch as a backup pickup point when other locations closed for repairs. Like the rest of the system, borrowing is free with a county library card. The branch line is (910) 822-1998.

Omni Cinemas 8
Arts, Culture & Entertainment
Omni Cinemas 8 is a locally operated eight-screen movie theater in Omni Plaza off Sycamore Dairy Road in Fayetteville's 28303 ZIP code. The building has changed hands several times; Cinema Treasures records past operation by Consolidated Theatres, Fairlane-Litchfield and Regal before the current Omni management. Its schedule now lists new studio releases alongside coming attractions, and tickets and seat selection are available through the theater's own website and mobile app. The cinema shares the plaza with the Omni Family Amusement Center and Mountasia Fantasy Golf and Games, which makes it easy to pair a film with arcade games or mini golf. Omni Plaza enforces a supervision rule for younger guests: after 4 p.m., anyone under 17 must be accompanied by an adult aged 21 or older with ID, with at least one adult for every five minors. Families planning an evening visit with teenagers should keep that policy in mind. Check the website or call for current showtimes and prices.

Pierro's Italian Bistro
Dining & Nightlife
Pierro's Italian Bistro has held its spot at 217 Hay Street in downtown Fayetteville since 2002. It is family owned and operated by Michael Laurenceau and Daniel Fair, and the dining room keeps the bones of the old storefront: exposed brick walls and a travertine floor, with an outdoor patio for warmer evenings. The menu covers classic Italian-American plates, pasta and pizza, and the restaurant's own reviews page singles out the lobster ravioli. A separate lounge suits groups where some people want a full dinner and others only want a drink and a small plate. Weekly promotions give the bar a reason to fill up early in the week: Martini Mondays, Tapas Tuesdays and Wine Wednesdays. Unlike several downtown dinner spots, Pierro's serves lunch every day. It opens at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at noon on Sunday, closing at 9 p.m. most nights and at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Its location a block from the Market House puts it within walking distance of the Cameo, the Arts Council and Fourth Friday events.
Fayetteville, NC
Pizza Palace
Dining & Nightlife
Pizza Palace opened in May 1983 at the corner of Hope Mills Road and Raeford Road, and the Poulos family still owns and runs it. The menu is the comfortable mix of a family Italian restaurant: made-to-order pizza, spaghetti and other pastas, hot subs and sandwiches, and a set of dinner specials. That range makes it an easy pick when one person at the table wants a pie and another wants a plate of spaghetti. One feature sets it apart from most sit-down pizzerias in town: a drive-thru window for picking up to-go orders without parking. The restaurant keeps a five-day week, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and is closed Sunday and Monday. The early 8 p.m. close means dinner here is better planned than left until late. It has a strong following, with a 4.6-star Google average across more than 1,200 reviews, high marks for a pizzeria that has been at one address for four decades. Parking is on site at 109 Hope Mills Road.

Putt-Putt Fun Center Fayetteville

Putt-Putt has deep roots in Fayetteville: Don Clayton opened the first Putt-Putt course here in 1954 and went on to promote miniature golf as a competitive sport. The current Fayetteville fun center sits on Footbridge Lane in southwest Fayetteville. Alongside two 18-hole Putt-Putt courses, the site runs go-karts, laser tag, bumper boats and a video and prize arcade, with a cafe counter for snacks. Private party rooms make it a regular stop for children's birthdays and youth group outings. Each attraction is paid separately or through package deals, and posted prices change, so check the location's page before budgeting a visit. The center opens at noon most days and at 10 a.m. on Saturdays, staying open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Round-A-Bout Skating Center
Recreation & Fitness
Round-A-Bout Skating Center on Skateway Drive is the western of the company's two Fayetteville rinks, sitting near 71st High School; the other is on Elm Street in the Eutaw area. The business traces its start to 1974, when it opened with a single location. The 71st rink runs public skate sessions rather than all-day hours, and its schedule is split: recent Google listings show no Monday session, evening-only sessions midweek, and separate afternoon and evening blocks on Fridays and Saturdays. Because of that pattern, it pays to call ahead before driving over. Schools book the rink for spirit skate nights, and the rink also takes birthday party reservations. For session times, admission and party bookings, call the rink directly at (910) 860-8900.
Fayetteville, NC
Rowan Park
Recreation & Fitness
Rowan Park covers about 15 acres on West Rowan Street, just west of downtown, and the city's budget inventory lists it as a neighborhood park paired with an amphitheater. Its best-known feature is the Rowan Skate Park, an in-ground concrete design that opened on August 24, 2020, with a flow bowl and a multi-level street section meant to work for beginners and experienced riders alike. Skating is open daily from dawn to dusk at no charge. The same grounds hold pickleball courts, a picnic shelter and playground equipment, so parents can watch younger kids while teenagers ride the bowl. Groups can reserve the skate areas or the amphitheater through the parks administrative office on Lamon Street, which takes bookings up to a year ahead on a first-come basis. Rowan Park does not appear on the city's 2026 splash pad list, so families looking for water play should head to another site.

The dining room has an ornate tin ceiling and Asian decor, and the menu sticks to familiar Vietnamese dishes. A local ratings site lists a seafood udon soup, vegetarian spring rolls, chicken wings and a special banh mi among its specialties. Service runs for both dine-in and takeout. The cafe has built one of the larger Google review counts among Fayetteville's Vietnamese restaurants, with more than 900 reviews averaging 4.5 stars. It keeps a short week: closed Monday, open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, so plan Sunday visits around lunch. Bragg Boulevard is the main road between downtown and Fort Bragg, which makes the cafe an easy stop on the way to or from post. There is no official menu website, so check the restaurant's Google listing or call for current dishes.

Fayetteville, North Carolina
Southern Coals
Dining & Nightlife
Southern Coals is a Raeford Road smokehouse that leans beyond the chopped-pork tradition most Fayetteville barbecue counters stick to. Ribs, pulled pork and brisket come off the smoker, and the menu fills out with chicken wings, country sides and banana pudding for dessert. Owner Jason Hairr signs the welcome note on the restaurant's website, which credits recipes handed down through generations of his family. Catering is a large part of the business, covering weddings, corporate events and office lunches, so it is worth calling ahead if you want a big order of brisket on a busy weekend. The schedule changes over the week. Tuesday and Wednesday are lunch-only, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday through Saturday the restaurant stays open from 10:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday are closed. Unit C sits in a small strip on the 3300 block of Raeford Road with parking out front. Google reviewers rate it 4.4 stars from more than 500 reviews.

Sun Asian Supermarket
Shopping & Retail
Sun Asian Supermarket is a locally owned Asian grocery store on Santa Fe Drive in Fayetteville's 28303 ZIP code, and it has served the city for close to two decades. It is a full-size Asian supermarket rather than a small specialty shop, which sets it apart from the international aisles at chain grocers. Map listings describe the store as an Asian grocery and fresh food market with a snack counter, and it holds a 4.7-star average across roughly 2,000 Google reviews. The business is planning a major expansion. In August 2025 the local business press reported that Sun will anchor Midtown East, a planned 32,000-square-foot market development in the Military Business Park area outside Fort Bragg, moving into a multi-story store that would triple its space and staff and widen its produce, meat, seafood and housewares selection. The developers called groundbreaking and opening dates moving targets, so for now shoppers should use the Santa Fe Drive address.

Thai Lanna serves Thai and Chinese food from its Bragg Boulevard dining room, on the stretch between downtown and the Fort Bragg gates. Its biggest draw is a weekend buffet that is all-you-can-eat and dine-in only. Buffet food can also be carried out by the pound. The kitchen is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. It is closed every Saturday. The Barbeque Hut
Dining & Nightlife
The Barbeque Hut has been part of Fayetteville's barbecue scene since 1965 and runs two shops: this one on Fort Bragg Road near Haymount and a second on Owen Drive. The company's site says the pork is cooked and sliced at the Owen Drive location, and the menu also includes fried chicken and fish. It also notes that Fayetteville Observer readers have voted the Hut the city's best barbecue in 27 of the 31 years since 1995, a run few local restaurants can match. The Fort Bragg Road store is set up for speed, with a drive-through that makes it a quick lunch stop for people driving the Fort Bragg Road corridor through Haymount. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday; the site notes that the dining room closes an hour before the drive-through. The restaurant is closed on Sunday. For a first visit, a pork sandwich or plate is the standard order.

Umami is a small Japanese restaurant on Yadkin Road, the busy commercial corridor in northwest Fayetteville. Rolls dominate the menu, with more than thirty listed, but the kitchen does far more than sushi. There are donburi rice bowls under the Umami Special heading, Japanese curry in several versions, noodle dishes, teriyaki plates, sushi and sashimi, salads and a long list of appetizers, plus a chef's special section that changes the mix. A kids' chicken boat makes it workable for families, and desserts round out the meal. Umami is a dinner restaurant. It opens at 3 p.m. and closes at 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday, closing an hour earlier on Sunday. It is closed on Wednesday. Online ordering for pickup is available through its menu page, with the last online orders taken shortly before closing. The dining room is snug, so larger groups may wait on weekend evenings. Google reviewers give it a 4.6-star average across more than 550 reviews, one of the higher scores among Fayetteville's Vietnamese kitchens. It sits a short drive from Cross Creek Mall, so it pairs well with an afternoon of shopping, and the shopping center lot provides free surface parking right outside the door.

It is a full regional branch of the Cumberland County Public Library, with youth services and adult collections. Since March 2025 the building has also held Miller's Brew at Cafe West, a nonprofit coffee shop that trains and employs young adults with developmental disabilities; at its opening the county listed the cafe's hours as Tuesday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The branch has closed for short stretches in 2025 and 2026 for HVAC and power repairs, and the county posts those closures as news releases, so a quick check of the library's site before a long drive is worthwhile. Unlike Headquarters and North Regional, West Regional does not open on Sundays in current listings. The branch phone is (910) 487-0440.

Womack Army Medical Center
Healthcare & Medical Services
Womack Army Medical Center is the Army hospital on Fort Bragg, serving soldiers, their families, retirees and other eligible TRICARE beneficiaries across the region. The current building opened on March 9, 2000, on a wooded 163-acre site, with more than one million square feet of space and 138 inpatient beds. The hospital is named for Bryant H. Womack, a Medal of Honor recipient, and it traces its roots to the Camp Bragg base hospital built in 1918. Womack cares for more than 160,000 eligible beneficiaries, which makes its patient population among the largest in the Army, and it is a verified Level III trauma center with an emergency department that handles tens of thousands of visits a year. Because the hospital sits inside an active military installation, access rules matter: people without a Department of Defense ID card need visitor access, and Womack directs them to the All American Visitor Control Center at the All American Expressway gate. Fort Bragg also lets visitors carrying REAL ID-compliant identification be scanned at its access control points. Patients being admitted must show a valid military ID to confirm eligibility for military health care.
