Fort Bragg Visitor Center & Pass: Hours, Online Registration
To enter Fort Bragg without a DoD ID, U.S. citizens with a REAL ID can pre-register online via the AIE system up to 30 days ahead for SMS approval, or register in person at the All American Visitor Control Center (open 5 a.m.–9 p.m. daily). All adult vehicle occupants must pass a background check and enter through open 24/7 access control points such as Canopy Lane or Yadkin Road.
To get a Fort Bragg visitor pass, U.S. citizens with a REAL ID-compliant license and a mobile phone can pre-register online up to 30 days ahead and get approval by text. Other U.S. citizens register in person at the All American Visitor Control Center, open 5 a.m.–9 p.m. daily on the All American Highway outside Fayetteville, NC. Call (910) 907-5165 with questions. Foreign nationals not on military orders need a DoD ID-card holder to sponsor and escort them, with an approved DES Form 118 submitted at least 48 hours ahead.
Every adult without a DoD ID needs a pass. Fort Bragg's visitor information page says any visitor without a valid DoD or other valid ID must first obtain a pass, and the online pre-registration instructions add that everyone 18 and older in the vehicle must pass a background check (NCIC-III).

Fort Bragg Visitor Pass Registration: Online vs In Person
| Step | Online pre-registration | In person at the VCC |
|---|---|---|
| Who can use it | U.S. citizens with a valid state-issued REAL ID-compliant license or ID and a mobile phone | Any non-DoD visitor with a valid reason for access |
| When to apply | No more than 30 days before the visit; the garrison recommends 24 hours ahead | During VCC hours on the day you arrive |
| How | Complete the form on the AIE pre-registration site and select your reason for visit (takes under two minutes) | Show ID and vehicle registration; photo and criminal history check at the registrar's desk |
| Approval | By SMS within minutes and no later than 24 hours | Issued at the desk; registration takes about 2–5 minutes once called |
| Using the pass | Drive to any open access control point and present the license you registered | Present the pass at the gate |
| How long it lasts | Only for the visit, no more than 7 days | Varies: one garrison page cites up to six months for vetted visitors, its FAQ caps guest passes without a DoD sponsor at 60 days; ask at the desk |
Online passes are processed only during VCC operating hours, and passes are never emailed. If you'd rather carry paper, approved visitors can print their pass at the All American VCC kiosk using the same license, starting on the first day of the visit (instructions). For special events, the garrison may post an event-specific registration link or code; use it if one is given.
If the vetting system is down when you arrive, the VCC issues a one-day pass and asks you to return the next day for a longer pass, per the visitor information page.
What to Bring to the Visitor Control Center
- Photo ID: a valid driver's license, state ID or passport (Physical Security FAQ).
- Vehicle registration for the car you drove to the VCC.
- A valid reason for your visit, such as visiting a sponsor or attending an event.
- REAL ID or backup ID: the garrison warns that visitors whose state ID is not REAL ID-compliant may have to show additional identification. Check your state's status at DHS REAL ID.
- ID for every adult passenger, since everyone 18 and older is vetted.
After 9 p.m.: Getting a Pass Overnight
The garrison says non-DoD visitors arriving between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. should use the All American ACP on the All American Freeway, where security runs a background check and issues a temporary one-day pass. You then return to the VCC the next day. However, the same page lists the All American ACP as closed for the Gruber Road Bridge replacement. Until the garrison reconciles those notices, call (910) 907-5165 before an after-hours arrival, or pre-register online during VCC hours so you can use any open gate.
Which Gates Are Open
Approved online visitors can use any open ACP. Under the gate schedule effective July 27, 2026:
| Status | Access control points |
|---|---|
| Open 24/7 | Canopy Lane, Yadkin Road, Long Street, Chicken Road, Honeycutt Road, R. Miller Road, Linden Oaks, Simmons Army Airfield |
| 5 a.m.–9 p.m. weekdays only (closed weekends and federal holidays) | Butner Road, Manchester Road, Rock Merritt |
| Commercial vehicles only | Knox Street Truck Plaza: 5 a.m.–9 p.m. weekdays; 5 a.m.–1 p.m. weekends and federal holidays; no POVs |
| Closed | All American ACP (bridge replacement), Knox Street ACP, Knox Street East/MMD |
Gate schedules change often. Check the Fort Bragg gates and commute guide and the garrison page on the day you travel.
Non-U.S. Citizen Visitors
Foreign nationals who are not on military orders cannot get unescorted access. According to the visitor information page:
- An adult DoD ID cardholder must sponsor and escort them at all times.
- At least 48 hours in advance, the sponsor submits a DES Form 118 by digitally signed, encrypted .mil email (or hand-delivers it to the All American VCC). A brigade/battalion-level commander or equivalent approving official must sign it.
- Visitors bring a passport with Form I-94 (or I-94W/stamp for Visa Waiver Program travelers) or an I-551 green card. Canadian citizens need only a valid ID such as a license or passport.
- Passes run up to 90 days, and the VCC copies the visitor's and sponsor's ID documents. If the sponsor refuses copying, no pass is issued.
Commercial Vehicles, Vendors and Deliveries
All commercial vehicles enter through the Knox Street Truck Plaza, per the garrison's online pass instructions. Vendors must first hold a contract with Family and MWR or AAFES, which sends contract details to the Directorate of Emergency Services; without that, access is denied. Vehicles carrying goods or equipment get passes at the Truck Plaza, while vehicles carrying only personnel go to the All American VCC. Delivery drivers should follow the garrison's commercial deliveries instructions. Oversized RVs that can't clear a gate are sent to the Truck Plaza, or to Honeycutt Road or Long Street when it's closed.
